I'm running.
For years we’ve been told doing better isn’t possible. Let me tell you: that’s bullshit.
Here’s the story of why I’m running for Governor of Wisconsin.
Years before I was called to run for the Wisconsin State Assembly, I started out my career as a line cook in a kitchen…right across the street from the state capitol.
A lot of people in that building don’t seem to get why it’s so damn hard to get by these days, and it shows.
Over the years, I worked my way up from the dish pit to executive chef and even opened my own restaurant. Like so many service workers, I learned what it means to hustle just to survive.
Working hard doesn’t always mean you can keep up.
One wrong step can lay you out flat.
That’s not an accident. The government works for billionaires and big corporations. Their wealth skyrockets while the rest of us scramble to keep our lives together.
Enough.
Five years ago, my community sent me to the Capitol. As a single mom, a service worker, and a community organizer, I’ve seen the mess up close — and now I’m running for Governor to clean it up.
Let’s build a Wisconsin where we share the table — where everyone has a seat, a say, and a fair shot at a better life.
For years we’ve been told doing better isn’t possible. Let me tell you: that’s bullshit.
We can do better.
We can fully fund our public schools and provide universal childcare for our kids.
We can guarantee paid leave and cheaper healthcare for every Wisconsinite.
We can fix this broken system that puts billionaires and corporations over workers and small businesses.
All we need to do is fight. Don’t let anyone tell you we can’t do this.
I’m running for governor because I know that, together, we make better possible.
This campaign might be in my name, but it’s by and for working people. We’ll only win if we work together.
I’m so grateful you’re here.
